Shoebox Sunday

Today beautiful, it was shoebox Sunday at our church. I managed to fill two. One for a boy and one for a girl.

It didn’t cost much to fill them.  There is toothpaste and brush, soap and a flannel, bits for school as well as a couple of toys. Not forgetting the most important thing sweets! πŸ™‚

I’ll never get a thank you card. I’ll never see the smiles, but that’s not the point. In a small way I’ve changed somebody’s world by showing that I love and care for them even though I don’t know their name.  That is priceless.

Freedom to worship

Today is Sunday. Give you dear reader a guess of what I did today. Well you are thinking we know you are a Christian so you went to church?

Correct! Well done you! πŸ˜€

So why the statement? Well for Lent I’m looking at things to be thankful for. Living here in the UK we are blessed to have so much freedom. We have the freedom to worship as we wish, whether you have faith or not.

There are people living in this world who don’t have the same amount of religious freedom and there are Christian’s who are persecuted because of their belief – see Open Doors:

So today I’m grateful for going to church!
